Indian Ocean Stories – tour with Corioli Souter

October 22, 2021 @ 5:00 PM

$15
WA Museum Boola Bardip Connections Gallery - Christian Sprogoe Photography

A fascinating one-hour tour about Indian Ocean artefacts and stories with maritime archaeologist Corioli Souter.

The themes inherent in the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial are central to the collections and stories on display in the Tianqi Lithium Connections exhibition in the new WA Museum Boola Bardip. The exhibition explores Western Australia’s relationship with the rest of the world, looking through the lens of our relationships with our Indian Ocean partners.

In this one-hour tour, join Corioli Souter, Curator of Maritime Archaeology, for a fascinating talk about Indian Ocean artefacts and stories. Find out their significance and how and why they were chosen for display.

Corioli will also reveal the design concept of the gallery and how the theme ‘our place in the world’ was developed in partnership with communities.

Two dates only. Limited to 20 people only. $15pp. Suitable for all ages.
