The Western Australian Fibre and Textile Association (WAFTA) is participating in Kings Park’s ‘Wildflower’ Festival in September 2021. “After Bloom” is a series of events by WAFTA in and around the Yorkas Nyinning Gallery at the Women’s Memorial Park, Forrest Drive, Kings Park. WAFTA will have daily demonstrations of all things ‘fibre’ using seeds and plant material from the park which passers-by will be encouraged to try out. There will also be ephemeral artwork around the area, a community art project, an exhibition, and a shop selling fibre works inside the gallery.
