In addition to the international exhibition we present a festival program of exhibitions and events by craft artists, galleries, art spaces and craft groups in support of the IOTA24 theme. August – October 2024, Western Australia.
Exploring the fibres of flora, fauna, and human systems, Tributaries includes objects formed by corrosion casting, a process by which resin is injected into animal organs and other biological systems to form moulds of internal spaces.
In dialogue with photographic images and poetry they document the thrum of life and death, connecting root, river, skeleton, and vein. Both a memento mori and a reminder of the constantly changing states of all organic matter – a testament to the interconnection of human, animal and environment.
Tributaries is also showing at Katanning Art Gallery, 9 September – 12 October.
