Textured Baskets: Gretchen Stolte – Workshop
Description
In this two-session workshop series (8 & 22 September), participants will explore adding textures and shapes to basket weaving. Cultural protocols around sourcing textures such as shells, seeds, nuts and natural materials will be discussed as well as traditions of coiled weaving. All materials and needles will be supplied but participants are welcome to bring fabric scraps, threads and any other materials they think they could incorporate into a basket.
These workshops are designed for intermediate weavers but beginners are welcome as well. We will be using larger needles so this workshop is also good for all ages.
