The exhibition aims to curate cultural narratives and authorial intent through artefacts and their mutual relations.

We are looking to cultivate a new appreciation of the creative process using a case-specific curatorial method based on the particularities of each author. As we explore the cultural narratives told through making, we interpret the meanings of each creative action and compose a common story while highlighting particular objects. These objects manifest cultural imprints woven into a code through a common idea of belonging to the land. Starting the Indian Ocean journey in Western Australia, the project stretches its reach to Indonesia, India, and Zimbabwe, looking to expand further, mapping threads of seemingly distant but alike creators and makers.

Curatorial team: Dr Aleksa Bijelovic, Dr Anne Farren, Chris Mewburn, supported by IOTA curators.
