Description
‘Feed your soul with your hands’ is the motto of Fibrant, a community-based textile group based in Perth, Western Australia.
Members choose to use recycled and natural materials transforming them into both 2D and 3D works of art. Techniques used include stitch, coiling, crochet, weaving, embroidery, felting, knitting, rugging, dyeing, metalworking, beading, applique and macrame. Using these techniques personal narratives emerge from the use of preloved fabric and clothing with artists who connect with the previous owners.
